Misadventures #2

When you bring a whole bunch of people from different parts of the world, arm them with toy weapons and put them all together in one game, crazy things can happen. Here is what we encountered this week.

1. In Little Big Planet, I met someone who would not wait for others but would insist that others wait for her. In the end she left the game saying “I’m leaving you rude ppl”. Speak for yourself, hun.
2. In Uncharted 2, I loved throwing a bomb and cornering people. It meant that I died too, but it was funny seeing them try to escape.
3. No one, I mean NO ONE, was playing Mod Nation Racers when I logged in. There was this guy in the game room, and I waited a while before leaving. I spent the next half an hour roaming around mod spot, and when I went into the game room again, the guy was STILL there, waiting. Either that or he fell asleep on the couch.
4. In Uncharted 2 whilst playing co-op, the bad guy was strangling my teammate mid air near the stairs in the Village. Some glitches are just plain fun.

The Big Three: Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Killzone 3

Which one of these three titles are you most anticipating?

Personally, I can’t wait for Uncharted 3, but I will most likely be getting all three.

St Patrick’s Costume – Free Download for Little Big Planet

There’s going to be a new costume released on March 12, 2010 in celebration of St Patrick’s Day, and it’s going to be free! You’ll be getting a hat, jacket and waistcoat, trousers and shamrock.

1. Someone with the nick xxxxx760 was running a one-man show killing everyone, everywhere… all the time! He was the man of the game, and most certainly not someone you would want to be playing against (which I was).
2. I had a brilliant time taking the back passageways to reach the enemy and pretending to be one of them… that is, until they all realized who I was and I suddenly had 4 guns pointed at me.
3. In the midst of the game, we all heard someone’s mother ask “What do you want for breakfast??” through the microphone VERY LOUDLY.. it was pretty funny.

What happens when you play one game for too long?

When you play a game for too long, you tend to get bored and do silly things.

Have you ever….

1. Tried to climb on a wall even when there’s nothing to hold onto? (Uncharted 2)
2. Waited for someone to give you ammo when in fact the only way to get it is to look for it on the ground? (Resistance 2)

3. Try to smash into every car you see? (Burnout Paradise)
4. Wonder how you got killed and wish there was a killcam? (Call of Duty)
5. Try to get into every tank you see? (Warhawk)
6. Love running around in the field making it easy for the enemies to get you (Little Big Planet)

So there you have it, that’s what happens when you play a game for too long!

I’m so happy we’re getting more unicorn-like fluffs – because I’m never going to have enough gold to get the unicorns and need a cheaper alternative. I think the Eagle looks cute too. What about you, which Golden Bonus do you want to see on your habitat?

iPad Launch Delayed

The iPad was supposed to be available worldwide in late March, but as Yahoo News reports, that is not going to be the case.

Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K. will be having the iPad in stores by late April and other countries will have to wait longer.

For the US, the iPad will be in stores April 3, and pre-orders will begin March 12.

I guess I can stop checking the Apple Store every single day now. I was hoping to hear news about an early launch so I’m pretty disappointed to hear the opposite

UNCHARTED 2 Just Got Harder

If you pop your UNCHARTED 2 Blu Ray Disc into your PS3 today, you’ll notice a new update (I think the file size was 15MB). I was wondering what was new as I didn’t notice any changes whilst playing the game, so I checked out the official announcement on Naughty Dog’s website.

According to the announcement, some of the changes affecting gameplay are:
* Adjusted hitbox attributes so that players will take less damage to the character’s legs
* Decreased kill radius of grenades by 1 meter
* Decreased accuracy of Down the Irons by 15%
* Reduced rate of fire of the FAL by 10%
* Reduced rate of fire for the Dragon Sniper by 10%
* Collision and geometry changes to “The Fort” to prevent intentional glitching by players

Looks like UNCHARTED 2 just got harder! This game is currently tops on my favorite games list. Anyone knows what ‘glitches’ used to be at The Fort? If people did the glitches intentionally, they must’ve been good. Now I’m all curious

I often get e-mails from PlayFirst notifying me of new games, and today I was delighted to find a coupon at the bottom of the e-mail. Here’s what it said:

“As a special thanks for being a PlayFirst customer, we would like to offer you any game for only $2.99*”

Fantastic! I’m so glad I signed up for their newsletters. I think I will be using my coupon to purchase Simplz: Zoo. But if I get the game directly from the game’s official website, I will get to unlock the Saber-toothed Tiger, so I’m still undecided What would you spend your $2.99 coupon on?
